The MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion delivers huge amp-stack tones and classic old-school tube amp-style distortion in a compact pedal format. Based on a classic distortion circuit with modern refinements, it provides rich, saturated rhythms and powerful soaring lead tones.

With a simple three-knob control layout, the '78 Distortion is easy to dial in, while the CRUNCH switch offers two clipping modes using diode and LED clipping for increased harmonic content and tonal flexibility. Its wide-open amp-like character works equally well with clean, slightly driven or fully overdriven amplifiers.
