Description

This 1958–59 Höfner Senator in Blonde is a fine example of Höfner’s mid-range Selmer-era archtops, positioned between the Congress and President models. It features a one-piece laminated maple top with flame maple veneer back and sides, accented by multiple-layer binding on both the body and f holes. The plastic headstock facia carries the vertical “sword” Hofner logo used during this period, paired with an unbound rosewood fingerboard with triple-dot markers and a zero fret. A simple adjustable ebony-style bridge, compensator tailpiece, and open-gear tuners complete the classic late-’50s design, delivering the warm, resonant tone and vintage charm that make these instruments so sought after today.

Notes

This guitar was previously brought to us for a neck reset before being traded in. In the past, someone attempted to strengthen the neck by installing a large bolt through the 12th fret and into the dovetail joint, which is why there is an extra flower inlay at the 12th fret to conceal the bolt. We have removed the bolt, properly re-glued the neck joint, filled the hole with a dowel, and restored the flower inlay to cover the repair. Please examine the photos carefully to ensure you are happy with the condition.
